Itinerary
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, our representative will whisk you away to your hotel. Kick off your Ethiopian adventure with a panoramic view of the city from Entoto Park. Next, delve into the past at the National Museum, where you'll witness Lucy, a 3.2-million-year-old hominin skeleton. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in Ethiopian Orthodox Christianity with a visit to the Holy Trinity Cathedral, a majestic structure built by Emperor Haile Selassie. Conclude your day by exploring the bustling Merkato, the largest open-air market in Africa.
Over night in Addis Ababa hotel
Depart south from Addis via the Great Rift Valley, stopping on the way at Lake Ziway to visit the bountiful birdlife on the shores of the lake. Continue driving to Arba Minch via Sodo, Ascend into the Gughe Mountains to visit the Dorze people, who are known for their tall beehive-like houses and their fine cotton weaving. After the visit, continue to Arba Minch for overnight in Arba Minch.
In the morning, enjoy a boat trip on Lake Chamo to visit the "Nile crocodile market," observe hippo pods, and view various species of aquatic birds along the beautiful lake banks. Afterwards, you will continue the drive to Turmi. If your visiting day falls on a Tuesday, you will have the opportunity to stop at the vibrant Alduba Market, one of the most colorful weekly tribal markets in the South Omo Valley.
Overnight in Turmi
After breakfast, make an excursion to Omorate which is found east of the Omo River; We cross Omo River by a small boat and walk 20 minutes to the Gelab (Dassanech) tribal village. Dassanech people are also known for their body painting and body scarification. In any of the above afternoons visit hamer village & we might be attending hamer bull jumping (age rite) depending when and where happening.
Overnight in Turmi.
Early in the morning, make an excursion trip to Korocho to visit the Karo. The Karo residing on the bank of Omo River, are celebrated for the finest body painting and body scarification. Drive to Jinka on the way we visit key Afer market, One of the most famous and photogenic markets in the Omo Valley authentic, and vibrant. Meet with different tribes, afternoon drive to Jinka.
Overnight in Jinka
Today our expedition started early in the morning with an excursion to a Mursi village (approx 66km from Jinka). Meet the Mursi, they are renowned for wearing largest lip plate and ear lob ,Then after lunch we Visiting the Jinka ethnological museum would give us brief preview of ethnographic information about variety of tribal groups residing in Omo valley, and we can also have a chance to visit the evening of Ari village.
Overnight in Jinka
Depart from Jinka to Arba Minch, via the Weyto valley and Konso. Friday is market day in Erbore, so if passing on this day, Stop in Konso for a visit with the Konso people, who are known for their totems erected in honor of the dead and their intricate agricultural terracing techniques. A
fterwards, continue to Arba Minch for overnight in Arba Minch
In the evening, farewell party with cultural dinner and traditional special buffet and local drinks to experience Ethiopia’s cultural meals and drinks. After farewell party transfer to airport for international departure.
